YouTube Karaoke

I think I've just discovered YouTube's killer app. Karaoke!

Spending this evening right here in Kuching makes for quite some boring time-passing. A random chat with a pal turned up this excellent time-waster.

So I've spent about the past two hours or so searching YouTube for all and various Karaoke tracks and then singing some to myself. You know what? It was fun (edit: Hmm...this sounds lame, in hindsight).

Thus, ladies and gentlemen, may I present you with my pick of Karaoke tracks from YouTube to sooth your lonesome nights alone. (Just don't laugh at my playlist!)

7. Celine Dion - My Heart Will Go On

6. Westlife - Uptown Girl

5. Frank Sinatra - My Way

4. Back Street Boys - As Long As You Love Me

3. Ronan Keating - When You Say Nothing At All

2. Josh Groban - You Raise Me Up

1. The Beatles - Yesterday

You Tube Videocracy: The event no press were invited to

... which made them want in even more.

Funny play on the human psyche this - we want the things we can't get even more, but to go cover a press event? Granted it was an excellent event by an excellent brand and some key announcements were made. Some journo even tried to sneak in and was promptly thrown out.

Well, the news didn't stay quiet for more than 24 hours thanks to Ian Schafer who promptly posted his notes up on his blog.

Personally, it wasn't so much the news that excited me (what's active sharing anyway?) but the manner in which YouTube pulled this event of. It's got me thinking, if we organised a big event here in Malaysia, and "neglected" to invite the press, but made sure we invited loads of industry people (marketing folks, handphone dealers etc.), would that make it even more desireable for press to drop by and cover it.

Something tells me it won't. Ah... the mysteries of life.

Here's a quick video I found of what the event looked like:

Achmed the Dead Terrorist, lol

Okay, warning - really crude jokes here - but awesomely funny nonetheless. Thanks to KY for pinging me with this.

Please take the video with a pinch of salt. It's meant to be comedy and plays heavily on stereotypes - but funny nonetheless. :)

This Jeff Dunham guy is really funny.

My favourite parts were:
1. "It's a flesh wound" - from Monty Python.
2. "Where do you get your recruits? The Suicide Hotline" - ROFL!
3. "Knock, Knock. Who's there? Me. I Kill You!" - I Kill You seems like a motto for these stereotyped Terrorists.

Enjoy.
